Reds acquire Jim Edmonds
The Reds have acquired Jim Edmonds from the Brewers in exchange for Chris Dickerson. The trade was complete after both players cleared waivers.
Edmonds is the latest veteran, and ex-Cardinal, added by Walt Jocketty for the stretch run. The Reds recently signed relievers Russ Springer and Jason Isringhausen. Scott Rolen and Miguel Cairo have played key roles in the team’s success so far this year.
Dickerson is a good player and even better person. I had the chance to meet him several times and he couldn’t have been nicer. I wish him the best of luck.
By the way, Edmonds is in tonight’s starting lineup, batting fifth and playing centerfield.
