Joey Votto doesn't like the Cubs, eh?

Cubs outfielder Marlon Byrd played a key role in last night’s National League victory at the All-Star Game. Byrd drew a walk in the seventh that loaded the bases for Braves catcher Brian McCann. McCann cleared the bases with a double that put the NL in front 3-1.

Byrd also made a key defensive play in the ninth inning. With one out and David Ortiz on first base, John Buck hit a ball that Byrd elected to play on a bounce in right field. He then made a perfect throw to second base to force Ortiz.

Byrd was obviously excited and proud about the game. He received congratulations from a lot of his NL teammates.

Except one.

“I don’t like the Cubs,” Votto said. “And I’m not going to pat anybody with a Cubs uniform on the back. But because he made that really cool play, it turned out to be a really cool experience. I’m really glad we got the win today.”
