Reds Country is well aware of how important Scott Rolen is to this team. It now seems that the rest of the country is starting to take notice.
The New York Times published a story yesterday that included a classic quote by Jonny Gomes. Here is an excerpt from the story, Investment in Rolen Is Paying Off for the Reds.
“You know W.W.J.D., what would Jesus do? Here, it’s what would Scott do?” Reds outfielder Jonny Gomes said. “He doesn’t argue with the umpires, he runs every single ball out, he makes great plays, he makes routine plays, he gets the runner in when he needs to get him in, he gets the runner over when he needs to get him over. He just plays the game exactly how it should be played. You never second-guess anything he does.”
A healthy Rolen helps make Cincinnati a legitimate division title contender, hopefully Dusty can get him some occasional rest.
